To deposit innovative coatings on optics with a diameter up to 200mm a deposition tool and process has been developed . These innovative thin film solutions enable new methods to enhance or decrease the reflectivity of polymer lensens and mirrors. The currently used deposition tool for in-house low volume wafer processing is based on Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). PLD technology is an established technique mainly used on small surfaces (Link). SolMateS has succeeded in optimizing and upscaling the PLD technology to 200mm in diameter without quality losses (several patents pending) and a offers a competitive edge in throughput compared to market standard techniques such as ionbeam assisted evaporation. As customers are ranging from research facilities and optical component manufactures two SolMates deposition tools are developed to meet the various requirements and customers.
